The 13th edition of the Africa Movie Academy Awards took place yesterday, 15th of July 2017 at the Eko Hotel & Suites.
This award saw the presence of Africa’s best in the movie industry who came to get recognised, celebrate with others and of course slay their way through the night like they always do
In the midst of all glamorous dresses and beautiful faces, we still noticed that some of Nollywood’s show stoppers didn’t make it to the event. These celebrities for one reason or the other escaped from being seen. Although some factors could’ve been responsible for their absence, factors such as no nomination, other engagements and stress.
The factor of ‘No nomination’ is definitely one to consider because it is rare for a Nigerian artiste to not show up when they have been honoured with a nomination; the honour is returned, hence we think they would’ve made themselves available if they were nominated, considering the date of the award has been slated way before the D-Day. But then we can never rule out the fact that these actors have a busy schedule and could’ve been engaged so tight that leaving the environment is not possible
